Man shot with pellet gun while jogging in Surprise

A man was shot with a pellet or BB gun while jogging in Surprise on Tuesday morning, police said.

The man was running near Bell Road and Bell Pointe Boulevard in the city about 5:30 a.m. when he felt a sharp pain, then noticed he was bleeding, Surprise police said.

The man told officers that a lifted, white pickup truck had driven past him just about the same time, police said.

The man was treated by fire officials. His wounds were considered superficial, police said.
