Deputy-involved shooting in Crenshaw County under investigation

Authorities are investigating a deputy-involved shooting in Crenshaw County, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said.

Cpl. Jess Thornton said a suspect was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He said the Crenshaw County sheriff's deputy was not injured during the incident. Sheriff Mickey Powell requested the investigation, ALEA said.

Thornton said nothing else is available since the investigation is ongoing. Once it is complete, all findings will be turned over to the Crenshaw County District Attorney's office.
