Lucky No. 13? Charlie Coyle to wear rarely-used sweater for Bruins

Charlie Coyle will bring more than just versatility to the Boston Bruins' lineup.

He'll also dust off a black and gold sweater that hasn't been used in over a decade.

The Bruins' newest addition, acquired Wednesday night in trade with the Minnesota Wild for Ryan Donato, will wear No. 13 for Boston, The Athletic's Joe McDonald reported Thursday.

The last B's player to wear No. 13? Glen Metropolit, who spent one season in Boston in 2007-08.

In fact, Coyle will become just the eighth Bruins player ever to don No. 13 and the third in the last 20 years. B's fans of a previous generation will remember Bill Guerin, who rocked the number during his two seasons in Boston from 2000 to 2002.

Coyle, a Weymouth, Mass., native and Boston University alum, wore No. 3 in college and with the Wild, but the Bruins have retired that number for Lionel Hitchman.
