Hartley Man Faces Felony Burglary Charge

Hartley, Iowa — A 26-year old Hartley man faces a felony charge after his arrest on a burglary warrant.

According to Hartley Police Chief Joe Hengeveld, the charge aagainst Dylan Halbur stems from an incident in late April, in which Halbur allegedly entered a Hartley apartment building with the intent to commit the theft of a parcel that had been sent through the United States Postal Service.

According to online court records, Hartley Police filed a charge of 3rd Degree Burglary, a Class D Felony, on Halbur on Friday June 1st. Court records further indicate that a warrant was issued for Halbur’s arrest on Monday, June 4th. Halbur was taken into custody by Spencer Police on June 8th, court records say, and transfered to the O’Brien County Jail in Primghar on June 9th.

A Preliminary Hearing for Halbur has been scheduled for this coming Tuesday, June 19th, at 9:30 am, in O’Brien County Magistrate Court.
