Bob Seger is ready to go, as the song says, on the road again.

The Oakland County-based rocker, who had to postpone 20 shows from last fall’s Runaway Train Tour with his Silver Bullet Band due to spinal surgery in October, is fully recovered and ready to make up those concerts. He’s announced the first 13 new dates – starting Nov. 24 in Kansas City and stretching into February on the west coast – and will announce the other seven soon.

No new shows are being announced immediately, but sources say there’s “more to come.” Pains were taken to insure the rescheduled dates were on or as close to the same day of the week as the original concerts.

Last December Seger said he felt terrible putting the brakes on the tour after its first 13 shows – including the last-ever concert at the Palace of Auburn Hills on Sept. 23. “It was going so good, the tour was,” he said. “They were playing so great, the band. Oh my God, I hated to stop. I feel like we’ve got to do at least do these 20 (postponed concerts) that are outstanding. We have to honor that. We have 200,000 tickets out there and people have been great; They’ve held their tickets all this time, so that’s the first thing we’ve got to do.”

The new dates will continue to promote Seger’s latest album, “I Knew You When,” which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Current Rock Albums chart and No. 25 on the Billboard 200 after its Nov. 17 release. The album was dedicated to Seger’s late friend, Glenn Frey of the Eagles, who passed away during January of 2016.
