Cool and Breezy: New City's Weekend

Keep the sweaters handy: temps will be below average for this time in April.

NEW CITY, NY — Saturday may be Earth Day, but that doesn't mean you should start planting flowers. Temperatures will continue running below average over the weekend — and some areas could even see frost in the mornings.

"Winter has not left our area yet," said the guys from Hudson Valley Weather.

The National Weather Service says breezy and chilly conditions are expected Friday in the wake of a low pressure system through Canada. There will be a gradual moderation in temperatures through the weekend — and the wind is expected to subside.
