The 24th edition of the annual cultural extravaganza, Alva’s Virasat, being organised by Alva’s Education Foundation, Moodbidri, is slated to be held from January 12 to 14.

Being organised during the weekend, Virasat will have music programmes in the first half and dance programmes in the second half, foundation chairman M. Mohan Alva has stated in a press release here.

There will not be any stage programme except the one on the inaugural day between 5.30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m.

The inaugural programme will start with a grand procession at 5.15 p.m., he said. The programmes will start at 6 p.m. and culminate at 10.30 p.m.

The foundation has set up a 150 ft by 60 ft stage to host the programme at Vanajakshi K. Shripathi Bhat Open Air Auditorium at Vivekananda Nagara, Puthige, Moodbidri. Over 40,000 spectators can easily watch the programmes and seating arrangements will be made for them, Mr. Alva said.
