Perryman Shooter Lived Near White Marsh, Described As 'Quiet'

The shooter who killed and injured multiple people Thursday in Harford County reportedly lived in the White Marsh area.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — The woman responsible for killing three people and wounding three others in Perryman before turning the gun on herself has been identified as Snochia Moseley, 26. Authorities said she lived in White Marsh and returned to her apartment there before carrying out the massacre.

Court records list her most recent address as the 8100 block of Ridgetown Drive in Nottingham.

"Overnight the detectives interviewed family members and friends and executed a search warrant at the White Marsh residence of the shooter looking for some motive or some cause," Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler said. "While no evidence directly related to the shooting was recovered, evidence that the shooter was suffering with a mental illness was identified."

Continued Gahler: "Friends and family members relayed to detectives that over the last two weeks, she had become increasingly agitated, and that they were concerned for her well-being."

Those who lived near her said she seemed like a nice person, and they did not see it coming.

"She was very nice, and she always said hi," a neighbor told WJZ at The BLVD at White Springs Apartments, where police converged Thursday after the shootings at the Rite Aid distribution facility.

Moseley was "a nice girl" who was "quiet," another neighbor told The Washington Post.

A classmate who attended Overlea High School with Moseley from 2007 to 2011 described her as "laid back," The Post said.

While she did not have a criminal record, Moseley had been pulled over three times in the past month. Court records show the traffic stops were related to her vehicle's registration. Here's where she was stopped:

  • MD 43 at Walther Boulevard at 12:20 p.m. on Aug. 28; driving without current registration
  • US 1/Belair Road at Rossville Boulevard at 12:16 a.m. on Sept. 1; driving with suspended registration
  • MD 43 at Perry Hall Boulevard at 12:01 a.m. on Sept. 2; expired registration, failure to change address

Investigators learned Moseley suffered from a mental illness, which was diagnosed in 2016. The illness was not specified, and the sheriff said a motive had not been determined.

"A motive for this senseless crime is still under investigation," Gahler said.

"There's just no way to make sense of something so senseless," Gahler said. "Frankly...we're never going to make sense of it."
