Andrew Tyler Capetandes talks music, photography and modeling (Includes interview)

On his music career, he said, “Music is where I started. I started on french horn when I was eight years old. I was inspired by the Harry Potter soundtracks, since I was a big Harry Potter fan. I picked up the soundtrack from the store and I brought it to my dad’s sound system in the basement. We played it and I asked him what was the instrument that played in the background, and it was a french horn. Ever since then, I went to the music store and I played the french horn. I was very determined and I stuck to the horn and I auditioned for one of the local orchestras and I played with them. At age 11, I played at Carnegie Hall, and a few other venues. From then on, I stuck to orchestras and I did high school band. Then, in college, I was inspired by YouTube videos and cover videos. I never had a vocal lesson in my life, so I started singing and recording my own vocals. I went to school for marketing and business. I recorded my own music on the side and I got better software and hardware. I went to Berklee College of Music, where I pursued production. Berklee made me realize that there are many areas of music, so that’s why I studied music business and music production. I graduated in the spring with a Bachelor’s degree in professional music.”

He had nothing but the greatest remarks about Miles High Productions and its president, Chip Schutzman. “I actually found Miles High through my internship in Berklee, and I did the summer program in Los Angeles, so now I am very thankful that I got hired by them. Chip is so great! It has been a great learning experience. I am very thankful for everything that happened this year,” he said.

He revealed that one his favorite groups is Roadcase Royale, and he saw them perform at Gramercy Theatre in New York. “That was a fun time. They are a fantastic band. From an instrumental standpoint, Roadcase Royale has some great talent, especially the drummer and bass guitarist. I am very glad I am working with them,” he said, and listed their song “Get Loud” as his favorite song of theirs.

On his plans for the future, he said, “I would like to pursue music business marketing, and learn as much as I can through Miles High Productions, and be with them as long as I can.”

“I got into photography simply by taking photos on my iPhone and using the power of that camera to the best of my ability,” he said, about his photography. “Recently, I picked up a professional camera. I call myself a visual artist since I am into social media and how feeds and timelines look. I am really big on Instagram and making a visual representation of myself and how I see the world.”

“Modeling is something I do for fun,” he said. “I feel that it goes hand in hand with photography.”
