A host of Irish stars have joined forces to lend their voices to a new single and album to raise funds for Irish homeless charities.

The High Hopes Choir, Gary Lightbody, Cathy Davey, Villagers, Loah, Bono, Roisin O, Join Me In The Pines, Saint Sister and Colm Mac Con Iomaire are the Street Lights collective and they've recorded Simon and Garfunkel's classic single Homeward Bound at Camden Studios with producer/arrange Cian Boylan.

The Homeward Bound single and Street Lights album will raise funds for the Peter McVerry Trust, Simon Community Ireland and Focus Ireland - all profits will go directly to rehoming and rehousing nationally.

Homeward Bound is available across all digital platforms now and is followed by the release of the full Street Lights album on December 7. You can also donate €4 to the Street Lights Project by texting street lights to 50300.

The album features 15 songs chosen by artists and organisers from Bell X1, Snow Patrol, Saint Sister,  Richard Hawley with Lisa Hannigan, James Vincent McMorrow, Damien Dempsey, Luka Bloom, Villagers, Stephen James Smith, David Gray, The Frames, Lisa O'Neill, Glenn & Ronan and Celtic Woman.

The High Hopes Choir said: “It’s been such a joy to work with so many amazing musicians, artists and people from across the music industry to release this single and album to the public. We hope they love it as much as we all do, and buy it to help our homeless citizens.”

Street Lights came about thanks to the efforts of Keith Troy, Sinead Troy, Aoife Woodlock (Other Voices and Music Producer) and Janine Nallen (CEO of Celtic Collections and Liffey Records).

Annmarie Brennan communications and marketing manager for Dublin Simon Community said, “With the support of everyone involved, this will have a life changing impact to the lives of vulnerable people living in unimaginable circumstances. The funds raised will enable us to continue delivering more permanent homes, ensuring that people never have to face the uncertainty and anxiety of homelessness again.”

Homeward Bound is available across all digital platforms now and will be followed by the full album 'Street Lights' which will be available from Friday 7 December 2018 from all good record stores and across all digital platforms.
