SIGOURNEY — Lynnville-Sully’s girls finished second to host Sigourney in a South Iowa Cedar League conference golf dual on Monday. Sigourney had a 235 and the Hawk girls tallied a 245.
“This meet was a challenge for us physically and mentally. We started off pretty rocky and had a hard time bouncing back. The course was in fairly good shape but the greens are very small and we struggled on them,” Lynnville-Sully golf coach Alison Knouse said.
Tessa Van Maanen was the runner-up medalist with a 50. No other L-S girls’ scores were available at press time.
Lynnville-Sully’s boys only had three golfers and didn’t have a team score. Luke Kramer had a 57 while Logan Ingersoll shot a 59 and Miles Mintle shot a 66.
“We didn’t get to practice on Thursday and Friday as the weather was bad so we are hoping to get a solid week of practice in this week before competing against Colfax-Mingo on Friday,” Knouse said.
Lynnville-Sully hosts the Colfax-Mingo girls and boys at Diamond Trail Golf Course in an SICL meet. Teams tee off at 4:15 p.m.
