George Lopez headed to court over scuffle with Trump supporter

Comedian George Lopez will face a judge over an alleged scuffle he had with a pro-President Trump heckler at a New Mexico Hooters, a report said Friday.

Lopez, 57, will appear in court next month on a misdemeanor battery charge for allegedly lunging at the man Oct. 18 in Las Cruces, law enforcement sources told TMZ.

In a 15-second cell phone clip obtained by the outlet, a man can be heard making jabs at Lopez, who then tries to grab the phone away and appears to go for the heckler’s neck.

A source close to the comedian told TMZ the man had been in Lopez’s face all night, making pro-Trump statements and yelling “MAGA!”

Cops tracked Lopez down the next day at a golf course and the comedian defended himself by saying he didn’t want to be filmed, according to a police report obtained by the outlet.

He also told cops he believes the man was trying to bait him by yelling out MAGA jokes, knowing Lopez has frequently expressed his disdain for the president, according to the report.
