The winter transfer window may be over but Leicester City will already be planning for the summer with contracts to offer and targets to scout.

They'll also be working on ways to keep some of their best players, who have already been linked with moves away.

Some of the Foxes' biggest stars are attracting interest ahead of the summer, while a number of their most loyal servants are edging towards the exit door with contracts nearing expiration.

Below we take a look at 11 players who could leave the club this summer.

Kasper Schmeichel

One of the most recent pieces of transfer talk has involved goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

The 32-year-old's father came out and talked about his son's desire for a new challenge.

Though, he also admitted that with Leicester being one of the biggest clubs outside the top six, and with Kasper's desire to stay in England, he is stuck in between a rock and a hard place as far as his future is concerned.

The Danish international is under contract until 2023, but given he is now 32 and heading into the final five or six years of his playing career, there may be some truth in his desire for a fresh start.

Danny Simpson

Simpson, who has been out of favour this season, could is likely to leave this summer with his contract coming to an end.

He's made just five league appearances this season, playing back-up to the excellent Ricardo Pereira.

It's clear that if Simpson wants regular football, he will have to move on, and in any case, it's unlikely that he will be offered a new deal.

Christian Fuchs

Another one of the title winners to feature on this list, Christian Fuchs will leave Leicester City this summer.

His contract expires at the end of the season and he has his heart set on departing after four - many of them successful - years at the club.

His first choice is a move to MLS to be closer to his family, who reside in the States.

Ben Chilwell

This is a name the Blue Army won't want to see on this list.

Chilwell is one of City's brightest up and coming prospects. He's a staple in the first team and still only 22 years of age.

But with such impressive performances at left-back this season, he has attracted interest.

It's reported that champions Manchester City are keeping tabs on Chilwell, and reports say they will make a move for him this summer.

Wes Morgan

Morgan will always be a hero in the eyes of City fans and rightly so.

However, the club does have a decision to make on his future with his contract set to expire this summer.

Morgan is now 35 years of age and with Maguire and Evans impressing in the centre-back positions, and with Caglar Soyuncu, Filip Benkovic and more coming through the ranks, they have to consider whether a new contract is the right option.

Claude Puel recently said: "We will make a point (of speaking to Morgan).

“I think it is not the moment with the players at the end of their contract."

It is a possibility that Morgan will get a new short-term deal, playing as back-up and offering his words of wisdom in the changing room and on the training pitch. If Morgan is up for that role and City aren't, it would surely be an opportunity wasted.

These young guns needs a leader.

Harry Maguire

"Hands off!" will be the first reaction from the Blue Army to any transfer talk surrounding centre-back Harry Maguire.

The 25-year-old has been excellent again this season, but also coming off the back of a terrific World Cup campaign with England, he's very much a hot property.

Manchester United were heavily linked last summer, but nothing materialised.

City will be hoping that's the same story this summer.

Though, if interest is genuine, one has to wonder how long Maguire himself will be happy to miss out on opportunities such a move to one of the top six.

He's under contract with City until 2023 and if he does depart this summer, it would be for a mouth-watering fee.

James Maddison

It seems a little soon for James Maddison to be leaving Leicester City having only arrived last summer.

But there have been reports of interest from Tottenham, who are looking to sign homegrown players to reach their maximum squad allowance.

Maddison set the Premier League alight earlier in the season with three goals in his first six outings following his £24million - including add-ons - move from Norwich City.

But his form has fizzled out a little since then,

Despite that, he's still said to be on Spurs' shortlist ahead of the summer and that may frustrate some City fans.

The best is yet to come from Maddison and the hope is that he will remain at the King Power Stadium to continue his development.

Spurs would probably have to pay a little over the odds to lure him this summer.

Adrien Silva

Silva failed to settle at Leicester City amid a nightmare start with the whole late registration saga and then a lack of playing time.

He was shipped out on loan to Monaco on deadline day in January, swapping with Youri Tielemans, and he's already enjoying his time working with former boss Leonardo Jardim.

Silva arrived at Leicester for £22million and that may make it a little difficult for City to find a buyer this summer, particularly if they want to make their money back.

There's a chance he returns to City and plays next season, but it seems unlikely given the way his move has gone.

With his value, and having been put in the shop window at Monaco, he will likely be seen as one of the more viable make-weights for incomings in the summer.

Andy King

After spending the second half of last season - and also this season - out on loan, Wales international King knows he is now surplus to requirements at City.

King is currently on loan with East Midlands neighbours Derby County and for now, he's fully concentrating on impressing at Pride Park.

However, he is aware that there'll be a decision to make in the summer as he looks for a new club.

He said this week: “That is down to me to see how well I can do between now and the end of the season."

“I am still contracted to Leicester, I am still a Leicester player. We don’t know what is going to happen there and we don’t know what is going to happen here between now and the end of the season in terms of performances and where Derby finish, and things like that.

“I’m here to do as well as I can and hopefully help get the team promoted, and see what happens in the summer.”

Islam Slimani

Slimani's Leicester City move has been something of a disaster. He joined for £28million in 2016 and he's only made 35 league appearances since, scoring just eight goals.

The Algeria international is currently on loan with Fenerbahce and he's still finding it tricky to score, netting just one league goal in 14 appearances.

Even Fenerbahce were reportedly looked to offload him early from his loan spell, but he ended up staying and he remains the Turkish club's lead striker.

Speaking recently, he said: “We will see at the end of the season what might happen. Now, I’m focused on Fenerbahce. We’ll see… Never say never in football – of course one day I hope to return to Sporting.”

Shinji Okazaki

The Japanese striker will almost certainly leave the King Power Stadium this summer. He spoke of his desire to leave during the January but ended up conceding that he would have to wait until the summer with City needing depth in the forward position.

Okazaki's contract expires this summer and his four-year spell at City will almost certainly come to an end.
