Arlene Ruth Himmerich

Arlene Ruth Himmerich, 79, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City, ND with family by her side. She was born November 10, 1938 in McHenry, ND to Alvin and Ruth (Knutson) Ramsey. Arlene was a retired kindergarten para pro for 28 years in Dayton, WA.

On September 15, 1957, she married Ephriam Frank Himmerich in Hannaford, ND. He worked for American Line Builders and in 1963, they were on the move living in 8 different states in 8 years, eventually settling in Dayton, WA.

They have 4 children, Debra born November 6, 1963, Jeffrey Glen born June 27, 1963, Jamie Warren born September 1, 1970, and Jeremy Lane born December 20, 1972.

She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Dayton. Arlene was an avid Booster Club member along with being involved in a quilt club, and a Bunco crew. She enjoyed coffee and going for walks with her friends in Dayton.

Arlene is survived by her daughter, Debra (Bruce) Muncy; sons, Jamie (Davi) and Jeremy (Katie); and two granddaughters that meant the world to her, Tabitha Ruth Esther Muncy and Juliet Ruth Himmerich. She also leaves behind her brothers, Orville (Connie) Ramsey, Dennis (Sue) Ramsey, and Steven Ramsey; sisters, Dolly Haugen, Sharon (John) Grover, and Peg (Steve) Roy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Jeff; parents; and a brother-in-law, Robert Haugen.

Visitation for Arlene will begin at 9:00 AM, Friday, August 31, 2018 at the Lerud-Schuldt-Mathias Funeral Home in Valley City. The funeral will follow at 10:00 AM with Rev. Foster Beckstrand officiating. She will be buried at Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City followed by fellowship at Sabir's Dining and Lounge in Valley City.
