Tom almost called off wedding to Luann the day before

Luann de Lesseps’ husband nearly called off their wedding the day before the ceremony.

We’re told Lesseps knew her marriage to Tom D’Agostino — which blew up in a dramatic fight last week in a New York restaurant — was doomed before their New Year’s Eve nuptials, but she decided to go ahead anyway.

But a source close to D’Agostino tells Page Six, “Luann was lucky that Tom made it to the altar — because it was Tom, not Luann, who nearly called the whole thing off at the last minute.”

Insiders wouldn’t say why D’Agostino got such cold feet.

A source said he ultimately went through with it because “he loves her.”

Meanwhile, Luann didn’t pull the plug on the shaky relationship before tying the knot because she feared she would look foolish for ignoring her “Real Housewives of New York City” co-stars’ early warnings about D’Agostino, and also because she’d already done a lucrative deal with People magazine for an exclusive about the wedding.

Before the Palm Beach, Fla., ceremony, Ramona Singer — who’d also dated D’Agostino — told de Lesseps that D’Agostino “goes to dinner with other women, and he pushes himself on them.”

Bethenny Frankel showed Luann pictures of her groom-to-be kissing his ex-girlfriend the night before Luann and D’Agostino’s engagement party.

Luann didn’t invite any co-stars, except Dorinda Medley, to the wedding.

As Page Six reported Monday, the marriage is in trouble.

The pair have broken up and got back together a number of times, and Luann allegedly slapped her husband when they got into a spat in a restaurant, according to witnesses.

She later denied on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” that she hit D’Agostino.

While she admitted to the bust-up in the eatery, she “took his face in a very loving way, and people took it as a slap.” Indeed. We’re told the not-so-happy couple were on vacation together over the weekend.
