SXSW Indie Spotlight: Briston Maroney
Briston Maroney is somewhat of a nomadic American troubadour, having logged time in Florida, Los Angeles and, more recently, Nashville. His music, meanwhile, acts as an emotive channel for his restless inner monologue, propelled by his stomping, bluesy guitar playing. Cathartic tracks like “Under My Skin” and “ Freakin’ Out on the Interstate” provide a telling glimpse into the songwriter’s mindset in a manner that is both intensely private and simultaneously universal.
