So Singlecut brand new to NH and I have had it before when in the 16.9 and was not cheap. Just snagged a 4 pack and rang up at $31.99. Simple question, does that sound right? Thanks all, probably not a mistake, but double checking.

    "$31.99"

    Ouch!!:slight_frown:

    Cheers!

P.S. Maybe this is an example of a beer that should be packaged in 8 ounce cans (to make a 4-pack)?

While I agree with this, that's really just smoke and mirrors, you're still paying too much.

I tried Heavy boots several years ago. If I recall it was soooo bitter from being coffee forward it tasted like an accident.

[IMG] Pretty darn tasty, 11% ABV, roasty, and toasty. Won’t do it often but this is really good.

In New York at Stew Leonards in Yonkers, they have about 20 varieties of Singlecut (note to Singlecut - LIGHTEN UP FRANCIS) and the prices for 4 packs range from $14 to $25 before tax and can deposit.

$32 seems high, even for SingleCut. But I guess if it's new to your area that might be what's driving the price up? Heavy Boots is great though! Glad you enjoyed it.

4x 16 oz cans of 11+ percent imp stout for $32? Not too bad...

Personally, I wouldn't buy the beer... but the format influences the shock about the price. Back in the bomber days, this would be the equivalent of a $11 bomber. I'm sure some of you would still consider that too high a price, but it wouldn't generate as much shock and I'm sure fewer people would consider it a bad price for a high ABV spiced stout. Turn it into a brewery only bomber release with a wax top and dare I say some would have considered it a bargain (even though the margins get way better for the brewery in that context). I'm not saying this beer (or any beer like it) is worth it or that bombers were priced appropriately... but many of us would be hypocrites to express outrage. I'm currently trying to figure out when I can make a beer run to grab some JW Lees Harvest (and that beer is a considerably worse price per ounce).
