JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Fire Department said a Wednesday night structure fire at 200 Infantry Drive was accidental and nobody was injured. The fire destroyed the attached garage, but the rest of the house was not damaged, according to Joliet Fire Chief Greg Blaskey.

According to the fire department, a man who lived at the house had attached battery cables to one vehicle inside the garage while the second car was outside in the driveway.

The man went inside his house while the battery was charging and then he heard a series of loud noises, Blaskey said.
