The series premieres this winter.

It was back in May that the USA Network gave the green light to the Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G. miniseries, created and written by Kyle Long. Now, the network has finally brought their forthcoming project to life in the form of a new trailer promoting the show.

A fictionalized true crime series, the show will shed light on the investigations surrounding the murders of Tupac Shakur, killed on September 13, 1996, and the Notorious B.I.G., born Christopher Wallace, who suffered the same fate on March 9, 1997. Both men died at the ages of 25 and 24, respectively. Directed by Anthony Hemingway, who worked behind the Emmy Award-winning The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, the show will feature actor Marcc Rose as Tupac while Biggie will be portrayed by Wavyy Jonez.

Other names on the credits include actors Josh Duhamel, who will star as Detective Greg Kading, Jimmie Simpson as Detective Russell Poole, and Bokeem Woodbine, who will play Officer Daryn Dupree. The real-life Greg Kading, a former detective with the LAPD and author of the book “Murder Rap: The Untold Story of the Biggie Smalls & Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations,” will function as executive producer of the show.

You can also catch Luke James as Sean “Diddy” Combs, while Aisha Hinds will portray Voletta Wallace, Biggie’s mother, and Letoya Luckett will play Suge Knight’s estranged wife Sharitha Golden.

This new show comes in the midst of a noticeable rise in true crime shows and biopics of prominent figures. Last year, there were also talks of Johnny Depp being set to depict the Detective Russell Poole in a film based on Randall Sullivan’s “Labyrinth,” a book penned on the subject of Shakur and B.I.G.’s murders.

Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G. is scheduled for debut sometime this winter on the USA Network.
