A Bath man is facing drug charges after authorities allegedly found a small meth cooking operation in his motel room.

Roy D. Hyer, 36, was charged Friday with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, according to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say they executed a search warrant at the room Hyer was living in at the Holland American Country Inn on State Route 415 just outside the village of Bath, near Lake Salubria.

During the raid, deputies say an undisclosed quantity of methamphetamine was found, along with two large plastic bottles and several ingredients that had allegedly been used in the production of meth.

Hyer was arraigned before Judge Chauncey Watches in Bath Town Court and sent to the Steuben County Jail on $10,000 bail.

Additional charges are pending.

The New York State Police’s Community Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Steuben County District Attorney’s Office assisted with the investigation.
