John Calipari's daughter trolled Colin Cowherd's rant about Kentucky's 'underwhelming' NBA players

NBA All-Star weekend was a huge success for former Kentucky players. Jamal Murray was MVP of the Rising Stars game. Anthony Davis won MVP of the All-Star Game. DeMarcus Cousins got traded to New Orleans.

It was another reason for John Calipari to be proud of his former players, but on Friday, Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd sounded off on Calipari-coached players’ NBA careers. He called them “underwhelming.”

After that successful weekend, Calipari’s daughter, Megan, came to the defense of her father. She commented on a tweeted and mocked Cowherd’s rant from Friday.

At times, Cowherd used that segment as a chance to rehash his shots at John Wall, who made his fourth All-Star team. Kentucky had three former Wildcats in the All-Star Game this weekend (Cousins, Davis and Wall), which was more than any other school. Derrick Rose, who Calipari coached at Memphis, was an MVP before his knee injury. Karl-Anthony Towns is one of the NBA’s more exciting young players. Devin Booker is averaging over 20 points per game in his second NBA season.

Sure, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Nerlens Noel haven’t become stars, but Cowherd put Davis — averaging 27.7 points and 12 rebounds this season — in the “underwhelming” category because the Pelicans haven’t won a playoff game with him. It doesn’t make sense.

Megan definitely had a point.
