Doha:  Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani patronised the graduation ceremony of the first batch of graduates of the Ministry of Interior’s Police College at its headquarters in Al Sailiya, yesterday morning.

The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister and Interior Minister, H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Minister of Interior of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Sameer Ibrahim Al Mubaidain, and Minister of Interior of the Republic of Turkey, Suleyman Soylu.

It was also attended by a number of Their Excellencies the Ministers, heads of diplomatic missions in the State and senior officers of the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of the Interior, the State Security Bureau, the Amiri Guard and the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), in addition to a number of leaders of security and military colleges from brotherly and friendly countries.

H H the Amir met yesterday morning at the Police College headquarters with Minister of Interior of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Sameer Ibrahim Al Mubaidain, Minister of Interior of the Republic of Turkey, Suleyman Soylu, and a number of leaders of security and military colleges in some brotherly and friendly countries who called on H H the Amir to greet him on the occasion of their visit to the country to attend the graduation ceremony.

At the beginning of the ceremony the national anthem was played. Then commander of the graduates’ queue came forward to request H H the Amir to review the queue of the 108 graduates from the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the State of Palestine and the Republic of Yemen.

After reciting verses from the Holy Quran and the performance of the graduates’ parade and the military parade, H H the Amir honoured the outstanding graduates namely the first in the total grades in behaviour, attendance and military training Abdulaziz Jamal Al Nuaimi, the second in the total grades and the first in the total grades of legal and police sciences and general requirements Rashid Saqer Al Mureikhi, the third in the total grades Abdulhadi Mesfer Al Marri, the first among students from outside the country Seif Aldein Khalid Abu Zahra, the first in fitness Khalid Hmood Al Enzi, the first in shooting Nasser Mubarak Al Shahwani and the first in leadership competence Hassan Sultan Al Dosari.

After that, the first batch handed over the flag to the second batch. The order for promotion was then read out and the graduates took the oath.

Director-General of the Police College Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Mahna delivered a speech on the occasion, in which he said: “Today we celebrate the honour of Your Highness to graduate a distinguished constellation of candidate students from the first batch of the Police College who successfully passed the requirements for a bachelor’s degree in law and police science.”

The Police College has been seeking to modernise and develop its various academic and training programs and to develop academic curricula that keep pace with modern security development in the world, he pointed out. “Today we celebrate with you the end of a stage, not the end of a journey,” he said referring to H H the Amir’s words “Qatar deserves the best from its citizens.” The Director-General of the Police College concluded by renewing allegiance to H H the Amir.
