Mitt the movie reveals how Romney irons his clothes while he's still wearing them!

A revealing new documentary revisits the 2012 presidential race and gives a behind-the-scenes look into Mitt Romney's losing campaign.

In one of the more bizarre moments depicted in Mitt, a documentary set to be released on Netflix, the former Massachusetts governor is seen wearing a tuxedo with a white tie, but the formal attire is in stark contrast to his demeanor as he goes so far as to actually iron a part of the suit while he is wearing it.

Someone in the background warns 'This is not going to end well' just as the then-65-year-old whispers 'ouch' under his breath.

His attire suggests that he was preparing to head down to the Waldorf Astoria ballroom and give a lighthearted speech at the Al Smith dinner alongside President Obama just weeks before the election.

One of the more intimate situations that is being shown publicly for the first time was when the Romney family gathered in a Boston hotel room as it became more and more clear that he was going to lose the election.

'By the way does somebody have the number for the President?' Mr Romney said before laughing nervously. 'Hadn't thought about that.'

'So what do you think you say in a concession speech?'

That inside peak backs up reports from that night that claimed one of the reasons why it took Mr Romney some time to publicly concede was because he didn't have a concession speech prepared.

His family was also interviewed repeatedly during the project, led by Greg Whiteley who spent six years following the Romneys.

Ann is shown looking disappointed in the final moments in that hotel room, and trying to lighten her husband up by tousling his seemingly-immovable mane.

'I would not want to do this again, it's too much,' she said of the campaign.

There were hints about their worries about a negative outcome throughout the campaign, as Romney frequently frets over his label as a 'flip-flopper' and his sons tried to remind him of their unquestioning loyalty.

'If you don't win, we'll still love you. The country may think of you as a laughing stock and we'll know the truth and that's okay,' eldest son Tagg Romney said at one point.

At one campaign event, Romney himself points out his prospects: 'I have looked by the way at what happens to anybody who loses as the nominee of their party- they become a loser for life. It's over.'

The documentary will be released via the online streaming site starting January 24.
