Paul Madison Brown, 82, died on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at his home.

He was a longtime resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee prior to a brief residency in Greenville, Tn. He was a graduate of Chattanooga Central High School class of 1946. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the United States Army and he received a bronze star and an oak leaf cluster for heroism in combat.

Mr. Brown retired from Delta Airlines in the Operations Department. He was a lifetime member of the Houston Museum of Arts where he was an avid antique collector and collected antique bicycles. He also loved to grow roses.

Mr. Brown was a fan of UTC Basketball and attended the 1977 Division II National Championship game where UTC was victorious. He was a member of Bewley’s Chapel Methodist Church in Mosheim, Tn.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his first wife of 31 years, Norma W. Brown.

He is survived by wife, Rebecca Brown; daughter, Cynthia B. (Mark) Brown of Chattanooga; two sons, Paul Michael (Deborah) Brown of Chattanooga and Douglas A. Brown of Chattanooga; stepchildren, Nancy K. (Paul) Jeffries, of Chattanooga and Paul Rodney (Kathy) May, of Mosheim, Tn.; four grandchildren, Laura May, David Collins, Will Brown and Michael Brown; sister, Martha Bible of Greenville, Tn.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 2, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. James Julian officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be retired Delta Airlines employees. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3 - 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 1, at the funeral home.
