A Tennessee man and a Georgia man were arrested in North Carolina on drug charges.
The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said 41-year-old Christopher Price of Farner, Tennessee, was arrested on or about September 12, 2018, for felony possession of methamphetamine.
Investigators discovered that Price had hidden over a pound of meth prior to his arrest.
Detectives continued their investigation, and on September 14, 2018, they stopped the vehicle Price and 41-year-old John Koback of Norcross, Georgia, were in at a shopping center in Cherokee County. Deputies found meth in plain sight during the stop.
Deputies also found around 40 grams of meth when they searched the vehicle.
Both Price and Koback were arrested.
Detectives were able to find the additional meth Price had hidden earlier in the week as well.
"All total a little over a pound, or over 400 grams, of suspected methamphetamine, was seized during this short investigation," a sheriff's office spokesperson explained.
Price was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine. He is currently out of jail on bond.
Koback is currently in jail for felony possession of methamphetamine and a previous failure to appear charge. His bond is set at $14,000.
“About $40,000.00 worth of illegal drugs were taken off the street in this investigation," Sheriff Derrick Palmer said. "We are continuing our investigation and are working closely with federal law enforcement partners to combat the flow of illegal drugs into Cherokee County.”
Both Price and Koback are scheduled to be in court on September 27.
