Northern NY man charged with assault in fight

Police say a Northern New York man hit another man over the head with a log.
It happened at the Massena Intake on State Route 131 Monday evening.
New York State Police say Chase Donovan, 23, of Nicholville, got into a fight with a man from Massena. And they say Donovan hit the man on the back of the head with a 3-foot-long pine log.
The victim was treated at the hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.
Donovan faces charges of assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He's due back in court next week.
