Former world champion and Hall of Fame legend Sugar Ray Leonard is really looking forward to the highly anticipated fight between IBF, IBO, WBC, WBA middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) and Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (49-1-1, 34 KOs).

The fight was officially announced earlier this month and is scheduled to take place on September 16th. The venue and location is still being determined, but the contest will potentially take place in Las Vegas, New York City, Los Angeles or Texas.

Leonard has been involved in numerous super-fights - with Roberto Duran, Thomas Hearns and Marvin Hagler.

Leonard, who captured five divisional titles during his very successful career, is unable to predict a winner in the contest. Even most experts are having second-thoughts after watching the recent performances by both boxers.

"Let no one bet the house on neither of them, because it's an unpredictable match," Leonard said to ESPN Deportes.

"I see this as being very even, 50-50 and the fighter who will win will be the one that manages to impose his fight plan. It's the kind of fighter where the mental aspect will be decisive, even more than the physical one. Both fighters need to be very smart, they must cover their chin well, keep their guard up."

Golovkin was in action back in March, when he won a close twelve round unanimous decision over Daniel Jacobs at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The fight was Golovkin's first in 24 contests to go the full distance and also the first twelve round fight for GGG.

Canelo saw action earlier this month, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. He moved up, from 154 to a catch-weight of 164.5-pounds, to face his Mexican rival Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. The move in weight was no problem for Canelo, who dominated every minute of the fight to win a lopsided twelve round unanimous decision.
