The Largest Night Rodeo in Kansas returns.

The Pretty Prairie Rodeo kicks off Wednesday inside the Booster Club Arena. The annual showcase of professional cowboys and cowgirls will begin at 8 p.m. with the gates opening at 6 p.m.

The list of events include: bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, mutton bustin’, tie down roping, barrel racing and end with bull riding.

Some of the cowboys will include bull rider Kyle Zeigler of Atwood, who participated in the rodeo last season, veteran steer wrestler Stockton Graves, saddle bronc rider Preston Kafka and 8-time world champion Joe Beaver of Victoria, Texas.

Beaver won the all-around three times (1995-96, 2000) and tie-down roping five times (1985, 1987-88, 1992-93). In 1985 at the age of 20, Beaver won the PRCA Resistol Rookie of the Year award and entered the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) in Las Vegas as the youngest tie-down roper.
