Rialto Very Pleased With Yanni Ticket Presales For Oct. 28 Concert

JOLIET, IL - Last week, the Rialto Square Theatre announced that world-renowned New Age music artist Yanni will be bringing his talents to Joliet on Oct. 28. On Friday morning, tickets went on sale. On Monday, Rialto officials reported that the presale event for Yanni was a big success.

There were more than 750 tickets sold during Friday's presales, said Jack Ericksen, director of development at the Rialto. "That's a great one-day presale total," Ericksen told Joliet Patch on Monday.

"We fully expect that to be a sellout," Ericksen added.

For now, tickets in every price range still remain available for Yanni's Oct. 28 show that begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are as low as $49 to as much as $225. The expensive tickets include a meet and greet with Yanni.

Yanni is hardly the only big name performer coming to downtown Joliet in the coming weeks. Olivia Newton-John is the next big star on the calendar. She brings her musical talents to the Rialto in less than two weeks. More than 1,600 tickets have already been sold for the Newton-John concert, meaning about 300 seats remain. "There are still a few tickets left in the $50 range," Ericksen said Monday.

According to the Rialto, tickets for Olivia Newton-John are priced at $89, $69 and $49.

Two other noteworthy shows for next month still have plenty of good seats available.

Another big act on the horizon is Tanya Tucker and Sammy Kershaw. Their show is at 8 p.m. on Sept. 15. At least 400 tickets have already been sold.

"There are still very good seats for that," Ericksen said, adding that he fully expects the ticket sales will spike in the coming weeks, given that country artists "historically do really well at the Rialto." Tickets to see Tucker and Kershaw are $63.50, $48.50 and $33.50.

Blood Sweat & Tears featuring Bo Bice plays at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 20. Tickets for that show are $63.50, $53.50 and $43.50, though additional fees may apply. With about five weeks remaining, about 450 tickets have already been sold to Blood Sweat & Tears.
