Boca West Children’s Foundation Provides $30,000 Grant for Children to Receive Backpacks, School Shots

BOCA RATON, Fla., July 24, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Boca West Children’s Foundation, which provides grants and volunteers to 25 local non-profit children’s organizations, has provided a $30,000 grant to Wayne Barton Study Center to assist with its “Back to School Jam” serving an estimated 6,000 underserved children.

The annual Back to School Jam ensures that underserved children are equipped for school. It will take place on Saturday, August 11 from 10am to 2pm at Wayne Barton Study Center located at 269 NE 14th Street in Boca Raton.

“Through this partnership, we are able to help deserving children prepare for a successful academic year and give them a ‘hand up’ to a brighter future,” says Jennifer Bate, Executive Director of Boca West Children’s Foundation.

Children attending the event will receive a grade appropriate backpack that has been filled with required school supplies. Students will be offered the health screenings and immunizations needed to the start school year. The event will also feature food, games, and music for the whole family to enjoy.

Wayne Barton, CEO and Founder of Wayne Barton Study Center, said, “We worry about what a child will become tomorrow yet we forget that he or she is someone today.”

This is the seventh year that Boca West Children’s Foundation has contributed to the event. This year’s Back to School Jam is also being supported by Cox Media; Kleinman & Lessman; WellCare; Florida Community Bank; and Grossman, Roth, Yaffa, & Cohen.
