Huge Temperature Drop For First Days Of Fall: Chicago Weather

Fall is officially here on Saturday, but first the summer heat will fade away.

After several days of late-summer heat, the fall temperatures are coming. A cold front will push into the area this weekend and bring some cool temps to Illinois. After temperatures in the 90s on Thursday, the high will be 74 degrees on Friday, before it falls to 68 degrees for the remainder of the day, according to the National Weather Service.

There is also a chance of scattered storms and showers Thursday night and Friday with the cold front. For the official first day of autumn, Saturday will be much of the same, with a high of 68. Saturday night will be even chillier with a low around 51 degrees, the NWS said.

Sunday will be slightly warmer, with a high of 72 degrees, until temps drop at night once more for a low around 55.
