Murl Hawkins

Murl Vaneeta Hawkins passed away April 30, 2018 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, at 91 years old. She was born on March 5, 1927 in Pettigrew, Arkansas to Osville Wassie Watson and Eithel Birtha (Shrode) Watson. Murl married Jasper Ray Hawkins on January 28, 1946, then graduated high school later that same year. Murl was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ray, eleven siblings: eight sisters and three brothers, and her high school best friend and sister-in-law, Faye Marie Hawkins Payton. Murl is survived by her two sons: Lonny E. Hawkins and his wife Linda of Edgefield, South Carolina and T. Ross Hawkins and his wife Rebecca of Fayetteville; granddaughter, Stephany Rae Hawkins Sansone and her husband Matt of Springdale, Arkansas; one sister, Erma Dean Marrs of Springdale, Arkansas; two great-grandsons, and many nieces and nephews. Murl enjoyed growing flowers, dancing, and travel. She loved her family. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 3, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Moore's Chapel Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Friday, May 4, at 1 p.m. at Fairview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Moore's Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be given online at www.mooresfuneralchapel.com.
