Aldershot Town manager Gary Waddock has confirmed defender Will Evans will return to training this week.

The centre-back has been out since pre-season after breaking his toe in training and has yet to make an appearance for the Shots this season.

However, with defenders George Fowler and Will de Havilland currently on loan at the Shots, Waddock will not rush Evans back.

“Will Evans will train next week at some point with the group but he has been out for a period of time so we have to be patient with him,” the manager said. “But obviously with George [Fowler] in the building and Will de Havilland coming back in, that gives us a bit more time to get Will [Evans] back up to speed.”

And while Fenelon (hamstring) could be in contention for Saturday’s game away at Macclesfield Town, Bobby Joe Taylor and Bernard Mensah are still some way off a return.

Waddock continued: “Again, Shamir [Fenelon] should be back with the group at some point this week but Bobby Joe [Taylor] will be out for a period of time. It’s a medial ligament injury which he did in training.

“Bernard Mensah should be another three weeks.”
