Shenandoah National Park has seen an increase in the number of bears being hit by vehicles inside the park this year.

So far this year, 19 bears have been hit by vehicles.

The number of visitors to the park has been increasing in recent years. The bear population inside the park has been increasing as well. It's estimated that between 400 and 600 bears live inside the park.

"Put those two together on a collision course, you're going to see more bears being struck by vehicles, you're going to see more bear incidents as well," Rolf Gubler, a biologist for the park, said. "So we're seeing both of those things, especially in the last three years."

The park is putting signs in areas with more animal activity. The signs warn drivers to slow down and be alert.
