Daniel Bliss, a 95-year-old Air Force veteran of World War II and the Korean War, recently jumped off a diving board and into the deep end of a pool to set an example for a young boy who was afraid to do it himself.

At a neighborhood pool, a young boy admitted that he was afraid to jump off the diving board.

Wanting to prove to the boy that there was nothing to fear, Bliss, with the help of a couple friends and his handy cane, stepped onto the diving board.

Bliss slowly found his way to the end of the board and slightly lost his balance, but regained control quickly.

As the onlookers gasped in anticipation, Bliss dramatically flexed his biceps and took the plunge.

Everyone expected the retired Airman to jump into the pool, but instead he surprised them all and dove in.

Everyone cheered on Bliss as his friends helped him exit the pool.

Christine Ross, Bliss’ daughter, caught the event on video, which has since gone viral with more than 33 million views.

Ross said: “He is very spry for his age. He’s 95 soon to be 96 years old and is both a WWII and Korean War veteran in the U.S. Air Force. He is full of amazing stories and has a song for every situation.”

Kevin Ross, Daniel Bliss’ grandson, said: “Little did we know he would actually dive. He said soon after this video that he wants to be seen around the world.”

His wife of 72 years is a veteran serving in the Coast Guard as an administrative aid.
