FOXBOROUGH -- The New England Patriots added two players -- Joe Vellano and Chris Martin -- to their practice squad and released Caylin Hauptmann.

Vellano was brought back after clearing waivers Tuesday. The move was first reported Tuesday night by ESPN's Mike Reiss. An undrafted rookie in 2013, Vellano started eight games at defensive tackle for New England, but was released Monday to make room on the active roster for Brandon Browner and Brian Tyms.

Martin, an undrafted rookie tackle out of Central Florida, has been on-and-off the New England practice squad all summer. Hauptmann, also a tackle, had been signed on Sept. 16.
