The Mississippi Department of Public Safety says an alleged bank robber and his accomplices have been arrested.

The suspected bank robber, 41-year-old James H. Sparrow, of Tornado, W. Va., was arrested Wednesday without incident at a hotel in St. Albans, W.Va., by the St. Albans Police Department, Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office and federal agents.

Mississippi authorities had circulated surveillance images after the Aug. 4

hold-up.

“I hope the arrest of these individuals sends a clear message: if you rob a bank in Mississippi, law enforcement will not stop until you are in custody,” said Donald Alway, special agent in charge of the FBI in Mississippi.

An alleged accomplice, Gerard J. Nicholas, 41, of Gonzalez, La., turned himself into authorities late Tuesday evening. The second accomplice, a juvenile, was also arrested in St. Albans, W.Va., and could be charged as an adult.

State charges against Sparrow, Nicholas and the juvenile are pending.

The Osyka Police Department, Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and FBI will continue their investigation into this case.
