@DwightKGroot -

Your comment made me choke on my water haha I read it in a very New Zealand-ish dry humor tone. 👍🏼

But really...

'Dark Phoenix' was the equivalent of Marvel Comics hiring a AAA artist to illustrate a comic book penned by an absolute hack of a writer.

He probably just messed up and is calling the D'bari the Skrulls.

A collaboration between Fox and Disney years ago would've been great, when MCU was still in its Phase One. We would have gotten a great F4 movie by now and the interaction between Logan and Tony would have been gold.

But Fox was too stubborn and flatout clueless with what to do with these characters.

Yeah...that doesn't sound much better than what we got. And it was easy as a comics fan to piece together that the aliens were supposed to be Skrulls (even if you didn't keep up with the behind the scenes stuff)...

I'd like to avoid some of the usual criticisms of this movie but god if it wasn't BORING and plain awkward (and not in an entertaining way). It just felt like nearly everybody was a stoic stock character with no distinct personality or arc. Not to mention the film felt like a whole 30 minutes were missing from the story.

There were some cool moments (only a few tbh), but I can't remember if there were any WHOLE SCENES that really worked. I also didn't feel attached to the overall narrative either.

Now I'm not big on ratings but...

I really picked the wrong article to drop my Colossus fan-casting into, didn't I?

This sounds pretty terrible and boring (and repetitive considering that they just had a third-act fight in front of a sitting US President two movies ago) and not at all different in substance from what we got.

At the very least I think this confirms that in the script and on the set they were referring to the aliens as Skrulls. Again, not substantially different or important, but mystery solved.

It was Daniel Portman, by the way. With a whole thing about how to artificially scale him up a bit with computers.
