Rihanna will have a street named in her honour in her native Barbados next month (Nov17).
The Umbrella hitmaker, full name Robyn Rihanna Fenty, will be feted by officials at the Barbados Ministry of Tourism on 30 November (17). She is expected to attend the unveiling ceremony, along with Prime Minister Freundel Stuart.
A statement reads: “The Government of Barbados will on Independence Day, Thursday 30th November, 2017 officially change the name of Westbury New Road located in St. Michael to Rihanna Drive in honour of Barbadian superstar Ms. Robyn Rihanna Fenty, who grew up in Westbury New Road.”
Rihanna joins the likes of stars including Aretha Franklin, and Willie Nelson, who have both previously had streets named after them.
