WASHINGTON (ABC7) — Chance for light snow showers and a wintry mix continue to be possible overnight into the Monday morning commute. An area of low pressure will move into the Mid Atlantic early tomorrow morning and will slowly move east through midday.
Precipitation should begin as light snow showers west of DC and spread eastward through the mid-morning hours. Light rain will mix in around DC and areas to the south. Surface temperatures are expected to be marginal in the low to mid 30s in the suburbs and closer to 40 degrees in town.
We do not anticipate snowfall rates to be high enough to create and problems on the roadways but some light accumulations will be possible on the grass. Around a half inch or less of snow is expected.
Otherwise expect cloudy skies by the afternoon with high temperatures only in the upper 40s. Our normal high temperature for this time of year is now 56 degrees.
Be sure to send any pictures of the snow in to wjla.com/chimein as we would love to show them on air!
