Ryan, Lauren Tannehill ‘settling in nicely’ after birth of daughter Stella Rose

Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill added another member to his family this month, after his wife Lauren gave birth to their daughter, Stella Rose Tannehill.

“It’s been great,” Ryan Tannehill said on Wednesday. “She’s home now. All [are] doing well. [We’re] settling in nicely to a family of four.”

Both Ryan and Lauren Tannehill each posted a new family picture on social media last week shortly after their daughter was born.

“We are so in love sweet girl,” Lauren Tannehill wrote in a caption on her Instagram account, while Ryan said “she already has our hearts.”

Stella Rose Tannehill is the couple’s second child, joining 2-year-old son Steel, who Ryan said has taken his adjustment to being a big brother fairly well.

“He’s doing good. He’s handling it better than I thought he would. I thought he would be a little more jealous and maybe a little mean to her, but he’s doing great,” Tannehill said with a laugh.

“He’s been really sweet to her and helping us out. It’s been a good adjustment so far.”

The Dolphins may be riding a recent two-game losing streak, but are still 3-2 this season with plenty of football remaining to make a run to the playoffs for the second time in Tannehill’s seven seasons with the team.

Tannehill could not help but smile when discussing the family’s latest addition, and the newfound perspective fatherhood has bought into his life.

“It’s nice,” Tannehill said. “Obviously, I put a lot of time and effort and energy into what I do here in this building, but whether it’s good or bad, I go home and my little guy runs up to me, ‘Daddy! Daddy!’

“It definitely warms your heart and puts a smile on your face and puts things into perspective.”
