Fort Payne police ask residents to beware of home invader or robber

FORT PAYNE, Alabama (WDEF) – Police in Fort Payne are looking for a suspect in a home invasion Thursday night.

The man entered a home on the west side of town just before 9PM.

A resident confronted him and chased him out.

But not before he ransacked several rooms and took a pair of diamond earrings.

The residents don’t believe the robber knew they were in the house.

The suspect is believed to be driving a small, dark-colored vehicle.

Police officials want people in the area of Second Street S to Thirteen Street N to be on the lookout.

If you see anything out of the ordinary, like a speeding car or suspicious activity, please  contact the Police Department at 256-845-1414 and leave a name and number.
