Paul Cattermole flogs second S Club 7 BRIT Award on eBay after first sells for over £66k

Former S Club 7 singer Paul Cattermole has thanked fans after he managed to sell an old BRIT Award for over £66,000 on eBay.

Cattermole listed his Best Newcomer statuette on the online auction site to help ‘pay his bills’ and raked in the impressive sum.

The former pop star said he was "amazed" by the response and as he had "no idea" that people still cared so much for the band.

He tweeted: “I am amazed and no not what to say. I can’t quite believe how things have gone the past 10 days. I stuck it up there on a wing and a prayer, not really expecting much too happen. I had know idea that people cared as much as they do. xx and I wanna Give Thanks xx.”

He added: “66k that is incredible, to the point where I am blushing ☺️, so I just wanna say a big thanks to everyone that sent messages, I was answering messages all week I’m sorry if you didn’t get a reply. . Thankyou Xx.”

Cattermole later put his 2002 Best Single BRIT Award for Don’t Stop Movin’ on eBay after the first “received an unprecedented amount of interest from all over the world”.

He tweeted: “Thanks for the interest and support people! My other award for best single is up thanks.”

The bid currently stands at £65,900 with another nine days still to go.

The award – which is described as being in “new condition” – is being flogged by a friend of Cattermole as he is too busy with “work commitments”.

The listing reads: “Paul has decided to let myself deal with the 1st process of the auction due to work commitments to man the auction.

Cattermole recently took to flogging his old merchandise, including the khaki green Parka he wore in the 2000 video for Never Had a Dream Come True and the complete set of all seven S Club 7 dolls.

Cattermole shot to fame in 1999 with band mates Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Hannah Spearritt, Bradley McIntosh, Rachel Stevens and Jo O'Meara. The band had hits including Reach and Never Had A Dream Com True.
