NFL #ProDucks: Week 5

Week five was another good one for Oregon football's NFL #ProDucks, with quarterback Justin Herbert once again stealing the headlines with another phenomenal performance for the Los Angeles Chargers. Herbert has launched himself into the thick of the NFL Most Valuable Player conversation in his second season, and he has the Chargers atop the AFC West standings with a 4-1 start to the season.
 
Cornerback Terrance Mitchell enjoyed another strong performance for the Houston Texans and is among the NFL's best at forcing fumbles this season, and defensive end Henry Mondeaux made highlights with his first career NFL sack.
 
In total, 29 former Ducks are currently under contract with 22 different NFL teams, with 18 on the active rosters of 15 different organizations going into week six.

Arizona Cardinals (5-0)

• LB Joe Walker is currently on the Cardinals' practice squad.

Carolina Panthers (3-2)

• RB Royce Freeman rushed three times for two yards and also had a six-yard reception while playing 14 offensive snaps in Carolina's 21-18 loss to Philadelphia.

 
Chicago Bears (3-2)

• CB Thomas Graham Jr. is currently on the Bears' practice squad.

 
Cleveland Browns (3-2)

• CB Troy Hill made five tackles, four solo, and had a tackle for loss in Cleveland's 47-42 loss to fellow #ProDuck Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers.

 
Dallas Cowboys (3-1)

• DT Austin Faoliu remains on Dallas' active roster, but did not see any game action in the Cowboys' 44-20 win over the New York Giants. Faoliu made his NFL debut in week four, recording two solo tackles.

 
Detroit Lions (0-5)

• OL Penei Sewell earned a 73.3 run-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus (PFF) as the Lions dropped to 0-5 on the season with a narrow 19-17 loss to Minnesota.
• OL Tyrell Crosby is currently on Detroit's Reserve/Injured list.

 
Green Bay Packers (4-1)

• OL Jake Hanson did not play in Green Bay's 25-22 win over Cincinnati.

 
Houston Texans (1-4)

• TE Pharaoh Brown played 37 snaps and caught a pair of passes for 22 yards – including a 15-yard reception – in Houston's 25-22 loss to New England.
• CB Terrance Mitchell recorded seven total tackles, including six solo, and forced a fumble at the goal line to prevent a New England touchdown in the second quarter. Mitchell has racked up 13 of his 21 total tackles on the season in the Texans' last two games, and he is tied for the NFL lead with three forced fumbles so far this season.

Indianapolis Colts (1-4)

• DE DeForest Buckner made two solo tackles and four total takedowns as the Colts fell to the Ravens in overtime, 31-25, on Monday Night Football.

 
Kansas City Chiefs (2-3)

• OL Kyle Long is currently on the Chiefs' Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list.

 
Las Vegas Raiders (3-2)

• QB Marcus Mariota was designated for return by the Raiders on Wednesday and may be available to play in Sunday's game against Denver. Mariota suffered an injury on a 31-yard rush in the Raiders' season opener and has been on the Reserve/Injured list since.

 
Los Angeles Chargers (4-1)

• QB Justin Herbert took the NFL by storm once again in week five, leading the Chargers to an epic 47-42 comeback win over the Cleveland Browns with a whopping 26 points in the fourth quarter alone. Herbert completed 26-of-43 passes for 398 yards and four touchdowns, and also ran for 29 yards and another score. Trailing 42-35 with less than five minutes remaining, Herbert led the Chargers 75 yards down the field and hit Austin Ekeler for a 19-yard touchdown. Los Angeles remained down 42-41 after the extra-point attempt failed, but Herbert got the ball back with two minutes remaining at the Cleveland 48-yard line got the Chargers into the red zone with a 29-yard completion. Ekeler capped the drive with a touchdown run and a two-point conversion to put Los Angeles ahead, and the Chargers' defense held on to secure the win. Herbert continues to make NFL history in his second year. He notched his seventh career game of three touchdowns and zero interceptions, the most for a quarterback through his first two NFL seasons. Herbert also recorded his 11th career game with 300 or more passing yards, the most such games through a quarterback's first two seasons in NFL history. Herbert's performance against the Browns put him squarely in the early-season conversation for the NFL's Most Valuable Player award, with ESPN putting him at No. 2 in its latest rankings. Herbert is currently tied for third in the league with 13 passing touchdowns and is fourth with 1,576 passing yards. Herbert's 90.0 overall grade this season by PFF is third-best among NFL quarterbacks, trailing only Tom Brady and Russell Wilson.

Los Angeles Rams (4-1)

• LB Justin Hollins is currently on the Rams' Injured/Reserve list and is expected to miss significant time with a pectoral injury.
• TE Johnny Mundt played 43 total snaps, including 28 on offense, in the Rams' 26-17 win over Seattle on Thursday Night Football.

 
Miami Dolphins (1-4)

• S Jevon Holland enjoyed the most productive game of his young career in Miami's 45-17 loss to Tampa Bay, tying for the team lead with seven total tackles and five solo takedowns. Holland played a season-high 72 total snaps, and earned a solid 84.8 tackling grade by PFF with zero missed tackles. According to PFF, Holland's 130 coverage snaps with zero 15-plus yard completions allowed this season ranks second among all NFL rookie defenders.

 
Minnesota Vikings (2-3)

• LB Troy Dye played 16 snaps on special teams in the Vikings' 19-17 win over Detroit.   
• DT Jordon Scott is currently on the Vikings' Reserve/Injured list.

 
New Orleans Saints (3-2)

• TE Juwan Johnson was targeted once but did not make a catch in New Orleans' 33-22 win over Washington. On the season, Johnson has six receptions for 64 yards and three touchdowns.
• OL Calvin Throckmorton made his fourth consecutive start at right guard, playing all 56 offensive snaps. Throckmorton has yet to surrender a sack this season on 136 pass-blocking opportunities.

 
New York Giants (1-4)

• OL Shane Lemieux is currently on New York's Reserve/Injured list.

 
Pittsburgh Steelers (2-3)

• DE Henry Mondeaux recorded his first career NFL sack in Pittsburgh's 27-19 win over Denver, using a nice spin move to break through the middle of the offensive line and take down quarterback Teddy Bridgewater for an eight-yard loss in the third quarter. Mondeaux played 17 defensive snaps and earned a 77.3 pass-rush grade by PFF.

 
San Francisco 49ers (2-3)

• DE Arik Armstead assisted on two tackles in the 49ers' 17-10 loss to the Cardinals.
• CB Deommodore Lenoir played 14 snaps on special teams against Arizona.

 
Seattle Seahawks (2-3)

• S Ugochukwu Amadi played 42 total snaps, including 27 on defense, in Seattle's Thursday Night Football loss to the Rams. Amadi finished with two solo tackles, including a tackle for loss.

 
Tennessee Titans (3-2)

• S Brady Breeze is currently on the Titans' Reserve/Injured list.

 
Washington Football Team (2-3)

• DE Jalen Jelks is currently on Washington's Reserve/Injured list.
