Fears For Tom Cruise As Star Apears To Be Working Himself Sick

Tom Cruise has left fans speculating about his health by appearing worryingly thin after his split from wife Katie Holmes.

Usually every bit the action star, his thin look is made all the more puzzling by the fact that he is currently filming action sci-fi thriller 'All You Need Is Kill', and as such the star should be in peak condition for his role as a soldier who takes on an alien invasion before discovering he's in a 'Groundhog Day' situation.

The filming is taking place in Watford at Warner Bros. huge Leavesden complex, and the 'Jerry Maguire' actor has been seen in London during a break, attending the Globe theatre but not looking himself.

Fellow star Matthew McConaughey has also shed the pounds in a similar way, but his weight loss is due to playing an AIDS victim in an upcoming movie, and if anything Tom's is more drastic and without any explanation.

Although he still has the muscles of the man who became an action legend in 'Mission Impossible', gone is the healthy bulk, replaced by a gaunt look that means the actor just doesn't look like the ageless star he was in the past.

And it appears friends and family are also fretting about the actor's work load, urging him to stop and take a break from work, with one insider telling Grazia last month: "Tom's friends and family have urged him to take a break, but he has brushed off their concern.

"He is refusing to slow down and is trying to soldier on. He doesn't seem to be himself. He hasn't been working out like he normally does and doesn't appear to be eating well at all. His clothes just hang off him."

Even at the best of times Tom is known as a notoriously hard worker, telling us at the premiere of previous film 'Rock of Ages' that while others partied he was grafting, "I had a different existence, I was on movie sets, you know studying film so that whole world was different, but I went to the concerts and I'd seen them [the bands featured in Rock Of Ages] play live, but it was a different experience. I was getting my head down studying movies."

Yet his punishing schedule appears to be taking its toll, as it seems that not even Tom Cruise is superhuman.
