The Wilton Fish & Game recently announced that its new 50-yard Small Bore and Archery Range is complete. Tours of the facility and ranges will be available Sunday, Oct. 15, on 256 U.S. Route 2 West in Wilton. The public, friends, members and guests are welcome.

Peter Wade, of the Sebasticook Chapter of North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association and owner and operator of Northern Exposure Kennel, will demonstrate “How to Start Your Bird Dog Training in the NAVHDA System at 10 a.m. Demonstrations will include the introduction to the training table, whoa command, retrieving, tracking, basic bird work, e-collar usage and pointing.

Those who have questions about dog training and inland hunting are encouraged to attend.

Following the dog training demonstration, Charlie Tappan will assist in trap shooting. Participants need to bring a shotgun, ammunition and eye and hearing protection.

Lunch will be served around noon. After lunch there will be demonstrations on gold panning and reloading.

Membership is always open, meetings are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. the third Sunday of each month.
