Yes, it's fair to say there have been some stunning and not to mention collectible coins in circulation.
And as well as having a whole new £1 coin, 'the mint' has also released an A-Z of 10p coins to celebrate all things British.
But there is one particular design which is extremely valuable - and it could make you hundreds of pounds if you happen to have one laying around in your purse.
A 50p piece has just sold for £1,000 on eBay, thanks to its aforementioned Peter Rabbit design, the Birmingham Mail reports.
There were five bids on the rare coin, which was sold earlier this month.
The Peter Rabbit coins were released in 2016 to mark 150 years since the birth of Beatrix Potter.
There are two types out there - the more expensive collectors' version and the normal 50ps, which you might find in your change if you're very, very lucky.
In March 2016, a batch of Peter Rabbit coins entered circulation in the Lake District and a few other British locations related to the works of Beatrix Potter.
Shortly after, they started appearing on eBay for far more than 50p.

And it seems the demand is still there.
In 2017, the Royal Mint released a further four Peter Rabbit coins - however available to buy exclusively online only.
The 2016 Beatrix Potter 50p coins rank highly in the scarcity list , with Jemima Puddle-Duck and Squirrel Nutkin coming in at numbers 6 and 7 – based largely on the fact that not many people own them and they are in very high demand.
