CCAC to hold open houses at all locations on April 3

CCAC’s Allegheny campus in Pittsburgh’s North Side

The Community College of Allegheny County will host open houses at all eight of its locations on Wednesday, April 3.

The free events will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and are open to all prospective students and their families.

Attendees can take placement tests, meet with an advisor and learn about CCAC’s program offerings.

CCAC staff will be available to answer questions about admissions and enrollment procedures, financial aid options, transfer and career opportunities and college activities. CCAC personnel will also conduct tours of the facilities.

Attendees will learn about:

• Associate degree, certificate and diploma programs;

• Programs designed to facilitate easy transfer to four-year colleges and universities;

• In-demand careers that offer strong wages and career growth;

• Scholarships, grants and financial aid opportunities;

• Day, evening, weekend and online course offerings.

Students who bring their high school transcript, college transcript or GED can complete their CCAC registration on site.

Several campuses will also have program demonstrations.

The Allegheny campus on Pittsburgh’s North Side will feature the culinary arts, science and health fields as well as a student life spring festival featuring student organizations and activities.

The Boyce campus in Monroeville will feature a health careers fair and demonstrations in a multiple programs.

The Homewood-Brushton Center will feature the entrepreneurship, barber school and certified nursing assistant programs.

The North campus in McCandless will feature multiple programs and include a student panel, a performance by the dance team and a job fair from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The South campus in West Mifflin will feature the film technician and engineering programs and the West Hills Center will feature the skilled trades.
