29-year-old motorcyclist struck side of minivan that was turning left, police said

A Macomb Township motorcyclist died after a crash with a minivan Wednesday night at 23 Mile and Romeo Plank in the township, the Macomb County Sheriff's Office said today.

Jeremiah King died in a motorcycle accident Wednesday, May 4, 2016.

His 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling northbound on Romeo Plank about 9:33 p.m. As it entered the intersection, it struck a southbound 2009 Chrysler Town & Country minivan that was making a left-hand turn on eastbound 23 Mile  Road, the sheriff's office said.Jeremiah King, 29, died at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, according to a news release.

King struck the rear passenger side of the minivan, according to the release.

The minivan was driven by a 42-year-old Shelby Township woman.

The release states neither alcohol nor drugs were factors in the crash, but additional test results are pending.

King was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

A third vehicle in the intersection at the time of the crash was damaged as a result of flying debris.

According to a GoFundMe account created Thursday, King was married with four children.
