Theater program honors late Trinity student

A musical theater production honored Trinity student Davey Albright months after he passed away.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Fifteen-year-old Davey Albright was remembered by his musical classmates Saturday as the St. Margaret Mary Musical Theater dedicated their performances of Mary Poppins Jr. to

Davey was a student at Trinity High School and had performed on the theater stage in several musical productions.

“Davey was an integral part of our theater program here, he had a beautiful voice and a great smile and he lit up the stage every time he was on it and we really, really miss him and we know he loved musical theater and that's why we're dedicating this show and our entire season to him,” teacher Angie Moth said.

Davey died in September, swept into a drainage pipe after heavy rain.

His mother later donated his kidney to a school administrator.

The theater’s next performance will take place in April with Seussical Jr. and that show will also be dedicated in Davey’s memory.
